Bolivia's constitutional court has opened the way for President Evo Morales to serve a third term after ruling that a new clause in the country's constitution would not bar him from standing.

Shares in Hindustan Unilever, Unilever's Indian arm, soared around 20 per cent on Tuesday after its Anglo-Dutch parent announced a $5.4bn offer to raise its stake from 52.5 per cent to 75 per cent.

Taiwan GDP growth falls to 1.5%
Taiwan's economic growth rate dropped to just 1.5 per cent year-on-year in the first three months of 2013, down from 3.7 per cent the previous quarter, as the export-oriented economy stumbled under the weight of slowing growth in key trade partners, particularly China and the US.
