Manning found not guilty of aiding enemy

The judge in the trial of Bradley Manning, the US army intelligence soldier accused of divulging a trove of classified documents and videos, has found him not guilty on the charge of aiding the enemy.

The charge was the most serious of 21 criminal counts faced by the 25-year-old, and carries a penalty of life in prison without parole. However, Mr Manning was convicted of most of the other counts, including theft.
