Chinese police have accused GlaxoSmithKline of being the "ringleader" in a bribery scandal involving 700 companies and deals worth as much as half a billion dollars.

Chinese economy slows to 7.5% growth
China slowed to 7.5 per cent growth in the second quarter, weighed down by faltering exports, sluggish retail sales and softer investment. It was the second consecutive quarter of weaker growth as a rebound at the end of last year proved to be shortlived.

India: WPI inflation ticks up
Having fallen gradually over the past nine month, Wholesale Price Index inflation rose to 4.86 per cent in India this June. That's up from 4.7 per cent in May but still below the 7.58 per cent inflation recorded in June last year. It was also under the average forecast of 4.90 per cent in a Reuters poll of analysts.

Rupiah Weakens Beyond 10,000 for First Time Since September 2009
Indonesia's rupiah weakened beyond 10,000 per dollar for the first time since September 2009 as slowing economic growth in China dimmed the outlook for exports and the current-account deficit. Government bonds declined.
