The Rupee continued to slide on Tuesday, hitting a new low of Rs64.1 in early trading. Additionally the benchmark stocks indices Sensex and Nifty were down 1 per cent. This will make for a difficult choice for the Reserve Bank of India. (Financial Times).

Glencore Xstrata have had $7.7bn knocked off the value of their mining assets following the complex merger that created the diversified commodities trader and miner this year. This shows the gloom in the mining industry as commodity prices have fallen due to oversupply and slowing demand (Financial Times).

Hollywood A-lister Robert Downey Jr has been called in as the face of HTC. With sales falling and having forecast its first quarterly operating loss in more than a decade, the company has decided it needs an image reboot. This recent ploy has been to convey the message that HTC inspires innovation standing for anything you want it to. With this surreal advertisement HTC hopes that it might reach the Samsung and Apple audience it needs (Financial Times).
